24 thirty day challenges for 2024

30 day challenges are a fun way to incorporate new habits, break old habits that no longer serve you, and train yourself to do something different. The gist is exactly what you’d expect – you commit to something for 30 days.

Although research varies on the actual number of days it takes for a habit to stick, and it can totally vary from person to person, and habit to habit, 30 days is a great start. Consistently doing something for thirty days can kickstart your motivation to keep going. So there’s a good chance your thirty day challenge could turn into a lasting lifestyle change!

For some inspiration, here’s a list of 30 day challenges I came up with to access greater health, be more mindful, feel more engaged, and take control of your finances in 2024.

  1. Walk for 30 minutes a day.
  2. Limit processed sugar.
  3. Eat a plant-based diet. Read up on some benefits of plant-based eating – there are plenty.
  4. Do yoga every day (or any physical activity you enjoy).
  5. Limit caffeine.
  6. Go to sleep at a designated time each night.
  7. Wake up early for 30 days.
  8. Speak positive affirmations to yourself each morning.
  9. Listen to a motivational podcast each day. Some I like to listen to are Do it Scared with Ruth Soukup and The Confidence Podcast by Trish Blackwell.
  10. Meditate. Whether you’d rather sit quietly and close your eyes for a few moments, or be taken through a guided meditation, meditation has calming effects.
  11. Journal to reflect on the day. You can reflect on highlights of the day, as well as what didn’t go so well. Journaling is a great way to release thoughts and make room for awareness and acceptance.
  12. List three things you’re grateful for each day. Research has shown that cultivating gratitude improves your well-being.
  13. Read for 30 minutes a day.
  14. Make a list of the following day’s to-dos the night before. This helps alleviate uncertainty from your mind while trying to sleep, and instead of listing out your tasks in the morning, you can just get right to work!
  15. Limit phone or scrolling time.
  16. Track your expenses by writing down what you spent money on each day.
  17. Eat only home cooked food (no dining out or take out).
  18. Spend money only on necessities. No unnecessary or luxury purchases.
  19. Spend time each day learning a new language.
  20. Work on a passion project or hobby each day. Imagine how much progress you’ll make in 30 days!
  21. Cook something new each day.
  22. Call or meet a friend each day.
  23. Bask in the sunshine. Take a stroll at lunch time, spend time in the garden, or read outside each day.
  24. Do something that makes you uncomfortable for 30 days. This is a good one to expand your horizons and learn to be okay with stepping outside of your comfort zone.
